Dr. Carmelita Lugue took exceptional care of me throughout my hysterectomy journey. From the very beginning, she consistently answered all of my questions and made sure I fully understood every step leading up to my surgery. Dr. Lugue is a sweetheart and has been very attentive to my health concerns, and questions. Answering everything and keeping me informed of what the plan was. She performed my hysterectomy in July 2024 and did an excellent job. Throughout the process and my post ops, she has been patient with my questions and explained things to me very well. I have been to Dr. Lugue multiple times over the past couple of months and have had a good experience with her. She answered my questions and worked to make feel comfortable. I was nervous to see her because of previous reviews but I feel I received good care! She was as quick and painless as she could be. Her personality seems to be a bit quiet and less expressive, so that may have contributed to other reviews that felt she came off as less empathetic.
Scraped my internal cuff with the speculum and berated me for being "sensitive" - part of the reason I went to begin with was pain with the cuff. It was so traumatic I've not been able to allow another internal exam. Honestly I felt assaulted.
She has zero empathy for her patients. Extremely rude and condescending.
