I accompanied my sister, the patient, to a consultation at Dr Gilbert’s office, and to his surgery center 2 days later for surgery . Since we’re currently battling the COVID-19 virus, you would think a doctor’s surgery center, as well as his medical office would be adhering to recommended practices, however they were NOT. The offices/waiting areas were not arranged 6 feet apart. Strangers could sit beside you, although myself and another patient never sat down because of the conditions. There were no signs of chairs or count... read more
Unsatisfactory. His office called and asked to change my appointment time late in the afternoon the day prior. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate his office. Dr Gilbert did well on my gallbladder surgery. Then I started to hurt really bad on my top incision and I called his office to try and get my schedule moved up because I could hardly move. They said they would call back but never did so I've been sitting in pain most of the week.
Dr Carl Gilbert cares for his patience honestly after going over the reasons why I had to have surgery I had one question. He is very thorough and ask questions to make sure he is doing right by his patience. For outpatient surgery he made sure I did not leave the hospital without having my pain managed. I love him you are in good hands with Dr Gilbert.
I am happy that other patients have had good experiences with Dr. Gilbert, however I am not one of them. I was admitted to the hospital with a significant wound on my left foot that had become septic. It took 3 different Nurses multiple calls over the period of 2 days to 'force' Dr. Gilbert to assess my wound. When he finally arrived, his bedside manner was gruff at best . I walked out of the follow-up appointment after waiting over 1 hour with no explanation for the delay.
