The appointments system for audiology, what a joke. I had a “tele-health” appointment last week (late August) for a hearing check (doctor in Nashville evaluating me, but I’m looking at her on the computer in Columbia, an hour south). Follow-up appointment needed, so I call Nashville VA to schedule next appointment. Tele-Health appointment not available until January 2027 (??!!). A 4-MONTH WAIT FOR TELE-HEALTH?? My care here has been excellent. Weather ER, Eye Clinic, Rheumatology, Labs, the staff is great, I've had no problems. Very clean restrooms, nice coffee shop, very efficient Pharmacy. The nearest bus stop is the one in front of Vanderbilt Medical Center which is behind the VA. Bus 7 goes to Wego main station downtown.
So far have received excellent care. Generally appointments have been very timely. My PCP is at the International Plaza VA Clinic and I like and respect her very much. No issue getting appointments as needed. I get care for prostate cancer. No issues getting timely appointments. Urology and Oncology work closely together. They watch my PSA closely. I had a 9:00AM appointment at VA Nashville this morning 8/12/2026. I drove an hour from my house to the VA hospital. After waiting 30 minutes past my appointment I approached the front desk to enquire why I haven't been seen. The lady at the GI clinic front desk said she would check. She came back and said it would be a few minutes more. I dont know where Melissa the traveling vet coordinator went, but the guy who i amassuming took over barely speaks English completely screwed me...i was attempting to get my community care referrals transferred from KY to MI and this non English speaking person completely transferred my VA system from TN to MI...and i cant get an appt in MI until November and I have 5 meds that i cannot reorder on the VA app cuz they say status unavailable or 1 says EXP
