A simple procedure that went well and should have been covered by my insurance could end up costing me thousands of dollars because the billing office wouldn’t code it the way my insurance company told me to get them to code it the way my insurance company suggested they code it in order to get it paid. This conduct is unacceptable and constitutes an unfair billing practice that places patients in financial jeopardy for no legitimate reason.
