We have had a good experience with Dr.Achtem. it was a long wait to get in (as it is with all ENTs at this time). I don't fault the office, they are only human and can only see so many patients. He took a good amount of time to review my daughter's case and explain what was going on and how to handle it. We are still seeing him as surgery is indicated, but so far we are very happy with the office.
Today marks week one of my recovery in my adenoidectomy that Dr Achtem did not do- but was suppose. I went in to my GP 15yrs ago and was told I'd need to have my adenoids removed, she referred me to Dr Achtem who gave me a consultation and confirmed we were going to remove my adenoids. Surgery day (Feb 2013) comes and not only was my experience waking up from my 1st time surgery awful in KGH but I find out this doctor didn't even remove my adenoids, he removed my tonsils instead, something that was NEVER discussed. I've been seeing Dr. Achtem for a number of years. He is an ENT specialist who is professional, knowledgable and respectful. Dr. Achtem's staff are also excellent.
I recently had my tonsils removed by Dr Achtem. He made me feel very comfortable and safe. He explained the process and was very compassionate towards my worries from past surgeries. I would highly recommend him. Thank you Dr Achtem!
