My wife Laurel S. had an Aneurysm burst October 10. All the local Drs. talked us out of a clamping due to the risks. We then were sent to JFK Johnson Rehabilitation for rehab. They did a random CT scan and noticed that the Aneurysm was dripping again. Down came a surgeon Dr. Asif Bashir. He said this must be clamped ASAP!! Dr. Asif Bashir is a remarkable doctor and human being who saved our father with emergency surgery christmas eve five years ago. Not only is he incredible as a doctor but has a sense of warmth and empathy towards his patients. He relays information in a clear and concise manner and is sure to always ask if there are any more questions. He also works with a “plan” after each visit so it is clear where treatment is going. All doctors could benefit from his model of treatment.

Dr. Bashir helped my family beyond our expectations. We went to multiple doctors for my mom who was in severe pain for months. All of them said that she had a minimal chance of getting better or that they wouldn't operate due to her 2 previous spinal fusions. Dr. Bashir committed to helping us right away and had the most amazing bedside manner. We had her outpatient surgery and immediately we could tell the relief that he provided her. After the surgery he came and spoke with me personally.

Dr. Bashir is a fantastic doctor. He has extremely caring bedside manner and is very honest and understanding about patient concerns & exploring different treatment options. As a neurosurgeon, he is just first class

My name is Christopher Bellofatto. I was crippled for approximately one and a half years. I recently had my third major surgery in less than one year! Dr. Asif Bashir performed two of those major surgeries on me...lumbar spine disctectomy with decompression, and cervical spine surgery to do cutting edge disc replacement surgery to my c4/5 and 5/6 discs. Dr Bashir was extremely thorough, and even fought the the insurance co to help me get this much needed surgery performed! Pain free...and beyond

It's been almost 4 yrs since my husband had spine surgery and has recovered so well. We went to 3 Neurosurgeons and I am glad we chose him to do surgery. He is caring, he listens to you and he will advise you what he can and cannot do. He is very realistic with results and will help you all through out the recovery process.

My wife has multiple sclerosis and we were directed to see him because of a c spine MRI. She has been in serious pain and many other issues. Dr Bashir was rude and spent more time on phone and talking about my and my wife's relationship and lunch then he did about her issue. He was not helpful or careing and seemed more worried about his next waiting patient. I would not recommend him to anyone.
