There is a reason that dr Merrill has such a low rating. I have dropped off two times reports to be analyzed for the last two months. They said they lost the first set and then made me drop them off again to Patricia who never gets back to me. Once she had gotten back to me to have me drop them off again. She sounds like she smokes three packs of cigarettes a day. Not a good person to represent a cardiologist. Stay away from this office because I cannot imagine them dealing with any type of surgery having to go through this ... read more
Dr Merrill is not only a great Cardiologist but he is a great human being. He gives his time to his patients and he sees them as people not just numbers. He is not always with his head on his laptop. He actually engages with his patients and seeks to understand his/her situation. Last but not least he is very funny. He constantly visits his patients at the hospital if they are in it for any reason. I have been his patient since 2014. So I have over 12 years of experience with his practice. Dr Merrill is an exceptional doctor. I saw Dr.Merrill the end of April for what I thought was a stent heart procedure He informed me that I needed open heart surgery. I had open heart surgery 2 weeks later and Dr Merrill visited me 3 times to see me. He was not my surgeon but was concerned with my health
I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. If you call up this group he's one of the only doctors that takes on new patients run do not go . Had one of the worst experiences he does not give you any time does not care about his patience has zero bedside manners it's probably one of the worst doctors I've ever experienced. I chose to discontinue care with this cardiology practice after being informed by a staff member, not Dr Merrill, that I needed to start medication without first having a direct discussion with the physician regarding my results or overall cardiovascular risk profile. What was most disappointing was that several important factors we had already discussed during my visit did not appear to be meaningfully considered. I was just another body to push medication on.
