I'm sure that Dr. Elbert was at one time a great surgeon. You cannot survive for 17 years in a profession without being great. However, that was not my experience with her recently. She made a huge error during surgery that almost cost me my life. At first, upon realizing her mistake she was very humble and apologetic However, the very next day she was hostile and defensive and continued to be that was for the duration of my hospital visit.
