Dr. Busseniers is one of a kind. She is a fantastic doctor in every way possible. Over the last 15 years, I have seen her 3 times for fine needle aspiration of my thyroid. She is gentle, caring, patient, and clearly explains what she is doing. Everything about our interactions was reassuring and put me at ease – which was critical given that the aspiration was on my neck (thyroid). I would not see anyone else for this procedure! So gentle and kind. Was happy- perhaps even eager- to not only answer our questions but take the time to Show us various things on the ultrasound and teach us about what she was doing. Could not have been a better experience for what is, of course, a stressful experience. I absolutely recommend her without reservations. One thing to know- I had been told she might look at my sample immediately. Apparently that only applies in the DC office. I saw her in Bethesda where she can do the FNA but does not have a lab.
It has taken me more than a week to write this review because I just couldn't get over the shock of how I was treated by this provider. I would give zero stars if I could. I was referred to Dr. Bussenier by my ENT for a thyroid biopsy. When I called to schedule, I was told by a representative in her office that she didn't take my insurance (United Healthcare). She was very caring and reassuring when I went for my thyroid biopsy. Charming, professional and eager to answer all questions. We shared our love for French language and she was eager to share her lessons from working in Africa (DRC) in her early years of practice. I was there with a friend and we both had a great time. She allowed my friend to be in the room with me and I really valued her empathy. She is a wonderful person and a patient doctor- PATIENTS need such doctors
I had a biopsy done. Dr Busseniers explained the process in details to me and performed the biopsy very skillfully. She even called me on the same day when she had the results. I would definitely recommend her. She is one of the best.
