I was referred to Dr Allen for wisdom teeth removal with twilight sedation. I had all 4 removed. As someone who has always been anxious at the dentist I am happy with how it all went. As other reviews state, he isn't very talkative or smiley but I didn't mind, he was there to do a job and did an excellent job of it! My recovery has been extremely smooth with not much pain or swelling at all and the whole surgery process was quick and painless. Couldnt have asked for better service, Dr Richard was upfront and honest- said he was concerned he might disrupt previous jaw surgery if he did the procedure and suggested Dr Manchela do it (he is based in Melbourne). Saw Dr Manchela who said he could do it when next in Tas, basically a conservative wait of 4 weeks. The following week my wife called Dr Allen/ Manchela rooms beause I was in so much pain and they liased with Dr Garg in Hobart who did it the next week, all 3 were upfront, honest, proffesional and a great outcom... read more
I was referred to Dr Allen after complications post wisdom teeth removal at my dentist. He was able to see me the next day and had me in for maxillofacial surgery the following week in Hobart under his colleague Dr Garg. I can't speak more highly of the care I received from the Dr Allen and Dr Garg. We are very lucky to have them in Launceston. I know it was a few months ago now, but please pass on my thanks to Dr Allen and Dr Garg.
Edit: I had a hostile call from Dr Allen within an hour posting this, harassing me for doing so, and disputing all the facts til he realised he was in the wrong with the phone call (by checking his own logs) and then started back pedalling on everything. This guy is rude, and not worth your time. 1000% Avoid at all Costs. Review: Avoid Dr Allen if you can.
