Her office cancelled my initial consult appointment 2 days prior due to “not treating” my condition, but I have no formal diagnosis and can’t get a formal diagnosis until I see a rheumatologist. My primary sent me to her to rule out different conditions, yet Dr. Shepard didn’t do her due diligence with my primary care doctor to see how she could help. Dr. Shepard comes off as “nice” but is patronizing, doesn’t listen to your concerns especially when they come from other specialists, and cannot take responsibility. I have been receiving the same infusion every month for 4 years. There should be no lapse of care. I recently sought a second opinion with a different doctor and had to request my medical records. That same month, my medication was “mysteriously delayed”. I called the clinic, the hospital, the insurance company, the nurses—they all said it was on her. So I kept ... read more

I had an awful experience at my first consultation. I pay to see her not an intern. I spent over 30 minutes with an intern and 10 minutes with her. She did not listen to me about my kidney disease and I gave her my kidney specialist name with no reaction or notes taken. She ordered blood work and the comments were "your kidneys aren't doing well"! She also prescribed medication that would harm my kidneys. Thank goodness I had the brains to call my kidney specialist and ask her if I should take it. She said no. Scary overwork... read more

Dr Shepherd is an outstanding doctor she is well prepared when you go in and see her. She knows all your history. She has a plan for your illness. She listens to you about your concerns. She is very caring and concerned about YOU.
