I could sympathize with Tommy. We’re having a difficult time with Dr Andreou’s office at MK dental in Smithtown. It’s funny you say they were waiting for insurance approval. In our case they quoted a charge before checking with insurance, then sent us a surprise bill for a much higher amount. No compassion. There was no professionalism to reach out to say when crown was in. No curtesy to call to explain that there was a denial by our insurance company. Horrible, Rude, Condescending, Unprofessional, should learn how to treat people. Left his office in tears, looked at my mouth for 30 seconds, was very aggressive as he was “examining” me - he proceeded to bang on each tooth really hard, and when i questioned him he put his hands in the air and said “i dont know what your problem is - you probably need a root canal” - he referenced my latest xray, and when i asked to compare to previous ones he refused and stormed off. A truly great dentist. I’ve been bouncing around over the years trying to find a good honest dentist. Dr. Andreou is a true master of his craft. and will not bilk you with procedures you don’t really need. I went to a high volume “mill” once and I needed a $4,000 root canal. I got a second opinion from Dr. Andreou and he said no way, just a filling will do.
