Dr Nelson has been our doctor for several years. Though he is getting close to retirement age, he still is very sharp and honestly cares for the outcomes of his patients. As a healthcare professional, I believe he performs his duties competently and quickly. His compassion is demonstrated by active listening.
He was through and answer all my questions simply and clearly. He did not give long lengthy explanations that were impossible to understand The wait time was short. He ask if all my questions were answered and did not leave the room until I was satisfied.
I would NOT recommend Dr. Nelson. My father went to him for years. He never addressed my fathers swollen legs! My father was scanned for cancer yearly. Unfortunately, his aggressive cancer was missed. I have no trust in this doctor.
He writes prescriptions for opiates. Once you are dependent he quits writing them making his patients quit cold turkey even though my Ann Arbor neurologist said my disease is one of the most painful diseases and difficult to get pain under control. Neurologist said I will never not be on opiates because of the pain. He is a very poor doctor having his nurses tell me and refusing to take phone calls to explain.
I brought my son there when he was 2 y/o and very sick. He forgot about us and we waited in that room for over an hour until the nurse found us there. Then, when he was three, my wife brought him in and he had strep throat. My wife told him not to put him on a specific antibiotic because it never works on him. He prescribed it anyways. When m wife called and tried to have it changed, he argued and said it should work. Low and behold, it didn’t and my son suffered because of it.
Very personable and thorough. Great bed side (so to speak) manners; listens and takes action to assist your illness and wellness.
Dr. Nelson is very professional, always keeping the best interest of the patient in mind when determining appropriate plan of care, prescriptions, referrals, and diagnostic testing. He listens and actually hears what you are saying. His medical advise is both thoughtful and straight to the point. Dr. Nelson is efficient and shows a genuine interest in making sure all of your concerns and needs are addressed. Dr. Nelson is a rare find as a doctor you can entrust with your healthcare needs.
