I went to Urgent Care for extreme pain in my right elbow. Immediately I was given an EKG and blood was drawn. Then I received x-rays on my right shoulder and chest. I was told about "frozen shoulder" and that if I got it, my "life will be over". I mentioned that the problem was my elbow and he ignored me. I got a couple pain pills and a referral to PT. Nobody ever looked at my elbow.
This doctor was short and minimized my concerns. He then went on to tell me he has other patients that need to be seen by him in his waiting room (which only 2 were in there) and then told me after my visit I should go to a Presbyterian ER Now and get seen, or call my primary doctor.
I went to Presbyterian Urgent Care, 3630 Las Estancias Dr SW Abq, NM 87121 on Saturday, 02/26/2022. I was complaining of extreme pain in my neck (left side). There is a huge knot and lymph gland is clearly swollen. Vitals taken, and provider assigned was Alemayehu Gebissa Biffa. He asked my symptoms. I described as listed above. Dr. Biffa was my dad's primary care doctor before he switched over to hospitalist work. Great doctor and very warm. Sorry to see him leave family medicine.
DR. Biffa was assigned to my husband after being admitted to the hospital in Nov. His orevious DR. had died 5 yrs ago and he never looked for another. Dr. Biffa was thorough, made sure he contacted my husband about followups. This is the first DR he has liked and trusts him. I was so impressed with Dr. Biffa’s care and concerns that I asked to be taken on as his patient also. We never feel rushed during the appts and makes sure he has answered all our questions.
Kept me waiting for two hours because he forgot about me! Looked at wrong patient chart when I asked about a follow-up for my husband.
