I was born in 1962 with an undetected deformed left aortic valve. In August 1991, I was diagnosed with endocarditis. Dr Borkon performed open heart surgery on me replacing the left aortic valve and patched a hole in the left mitral valve. The replacement valve is a Saint Jude shutter valve and has been functioning flawlessly for 34 years. Thank you Dr. Borkon and thank you Saint Luke's.
