This was a vibe for sure
Downtown Elgin was a pleasure to visit, and made for a great day trip from Austin. Elgin's main strip has several attractive historic buildings, including a couple coffee shops, several relaxing bars, a diversity of restaurants, and some fun shops. My personal favorites were the Lightning Bar, Chemn Coffee, and NewBo vintage shop. Enough of the downtown strip has awnings that we were able to mostly stay out of the sun while exploring from one air conditioned spot to another.
