Always wanted to do a tour on the Southern Downs Explorer & was not disappointed. The tour included: lunch + dinner, a local bus tour, visiting a couple of pubs with soul & character, & kicking back with a classic movie in a charming, historic country cinema—such good value for money! And the volunteers were extremely friendly & helpful. Thoroughly recommend!
A good bit of nostalgia for any train enthusiast. Morning tea at Clifton station and lunch at Warwick were both excellent, and the volunteer staff were very friendly and informative. Recommend staying overnight in Toowoomba as the train leaves around 8am Saturday morning.
Anyone who loves trains should go on this trip. The staff are so friendly and morning teas/lunches at different stations are with the amazing country folk. A really enjoyable way to spend time and tour.
