I needed to have a ground wire put in from my panel box to my receptacle so I could use my newly installed washer and dryer immediately. When I called Downingtown Electrical the owner answered and was very understanding of my needs. They took care of my problem the same day and the cost was very reasonable compared to the other places I priced. I have used Downingtown Electrical Plumbing for years. I recently called them to change the bulb on my ultraviolet water purifier and recharge my water treatment system. They sent two men out to do this and charged me $408.00, which was mostly labor. Two guys to change a light bulb and dump a bucket of calcium carbonate into the water treatment tank. This feels like gouging to me. Next time I will call someone else.
Awful. They wanted to charge my mother 1200 to hook up a washer to the plumbing. This was after they charged her 200 just to hook up the washer and dryer, with the washer discharging to an old sump hole without a sump pump. Blatant attempt to rip off a person just because she was an old woman. I went and hooked up the washer myself in an hour and it was all up to code.
rewired my parents' house (old knob and tube) as we prepared it for sale - did a fabulous job preserving all original wood molding and left the place in good condition - did work in a timely manner - would recommend
They have always done the job well. I have used them many times for electrical and plumbing.
4 years ago I thought they were decent, but their recent service was awful: the plumber was hours late, he broke a pump part & set to replace it only to find out by a co-worker who arrived to help that the broken part wasn't even needed, he performed a task that caused a blockage then said it occurred because of the age of the pump. When I spoke w/the owner, he spoke over me without listening & was insulting, then threatened to not send anyone back to finish the job. Ill never use this company again.
