Come ride the train this summer! The whole family will enjoy riding the train through the Ellsworth area on the Down East Scenic Railroad. 1-1/4 hour long excursions will leave from Washington Junction in Hancock on Saturdays and Sundays.

Quick railroad ride though the woods then through Ellsworth. The ride was ok but uneventful. The older train and employees are the positive
The speakers were already mostly inaudible, so after adding the insanely loud train whistle that went off every couple minutes, we could hear maybe 5% of the prerecorded narrative. As far as scenic, the tracks run behind all the strip malls on Rt 1, so we got to see all LL Bean’s old pallets, Cadillac Mountain Sports parking lot, and Comfort Inn dumpsters.
