Explore the beauty of an Outer Banks sunset on a 55-foot topsail schooner sailing tour or charter a private sail from the Manteo waterfront for your OBX special occasion (birthday, anniversary, wedding, family reunion or bridal / bachelor party). The Rover can comfortably accommodate up to 25 guests. Passengers are welcome (and encouraged) to bring their own food, drinks (including alcohol) and coolers on board at no extra charge. Don't worry, we have cups.

We took the sailboat excursion of a lifetime! The crew was very friendly, charming and professional. First Mate "Scott" regaled us with tall tales, jokes and interesting, historical facts. The sailing was magical. "Scuppers" the sailor dog let us know when dolphins were approaching the sailboat. The dolphins followed us so closely we could almost reach out and touch them. Great experience for our 20 person company event. Good, friendly communication beforehand, and a fun, mellow ride out into the sound the day of. Recommended.
Highly recommend sailing with Downeast Rover! I chartered a sunset sail for a women's group, and we had so much fun and it was a beautiful night on the water. Captain Chris and First Mate Scott were personable and answered our questions. Scott took pictures of our group and made the trip fun for everyone. Kim was helpful in booking and quick to reply when I had some additional questions for her. I look forward to sailing with them again next year!
Our family of 17, adults and kids had a wonderful time on our sunset cruise. It is nice to bring own food and beverages. We saw so many dolphins and created fun family memories. The crew is the BEST! They have safety as a priority. We will be back next year.
