Explore the beauty of an Outer Banks sunset on a 55-foot topsail schooner sailing tour or charter a private sail from the Manteo waterfront for your OBX special occasion (birthday, anniversary, wedding, family reunion or bridal / bachelor party). The Rover can comfortably accommodate up to 25 guests. Passengers are welcome (and encouraged) to bring their own food, drinks (including alcohol) and coolers on board at no extra charge. Don't worry, we have cups.

Great sunset cruise tonight. The weather couldn’t have cooperated any better. Beautiful, cloud scudded skies and the perfect amount of wind for a good sail. Our captain and mate, Kim and Scott could not have been better. Scott shared interesting facts and stories about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend Downeast Rover for a relaxing ride. Another positive - bring your own food and beverage!
Although we did not get to take our sail with these fine folks, I need to say how professional and accommodating they were. Two times we made reservations to join them and two times something came up that caused us to cancel, the latest one was less than a day before our scheduled trip. In that one, we suffered a communication issue and the folks there did not receive our cancellation notice when we thought they did. That cause some concern and problems on the day of the sail. A wonderful experience for you and your significant other or a group of friends and family. Such a great sailing experience and the crew was very knowledgeable of the local area and were excited to answer any questions we customers had. They even accommodated my wife’s service dog. A must do if your in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Kim was the best/most pleasant person to work with. We unfortunately weren’t able to go out on tour due to the weather but the crew and Kim went above and beyond to give options and were extremely apologetic. We all know weather can be unpredictable but we were grateful for the photo on the beautiful boat and to get to meet the captains. We look forward to a tour on our next visit. If you have a chance to work with down east rover you won’t be disappointed!! Thank you Kim and crew.
