My wife and I wanted to go out for the day and boat up Adam’s Creek to Oriental. It was a perfect day for boating. I launched and left the engine idle as I parked my truck. When I got to the boat it alarmed “engine overheating”. I know nothing of the area and google searched Marine mechanics near me. So -- had a problem with my lower unit, and called a couple places in the Morehead area to see who could look at it (just wanted a pressure test to see if the seals needed to be looked at). 2 places wouldn't answer the phone. One place was closed on Mondays for service. One place said they "don't do that kind of thing," and were booked for weeks regardless.... Downeast Marine said, "Sure, bring it by!" I did; a mechanic stopped what he was doing and took a look, pressurizing and painting the seals with soapy water. No leak w... read more

Excellent service! We needed a couple of boat batteries or the trip was going to be over before it started! Super nice and friendly! Will used them for bigger issues in the future
