Since being established in 1899, as a home for Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow and family, the 110-acre Dow Gardens now welcomes more than 200,000 guests per year. We visited the Whiting Forest, and, also, Dow Gardens yesterday. Everything was perfection . . . everything! The children all appeared to be loving the cool mist coming from the misters beneath the suspended "hammocks". Two bridal parties had spectacular flower gardens, streams, and, trees for use in their bridal photography. Everything was pristine! And, lastly, it was wonderful to see the number of families enjoying a nature walk TOGETHER . Everything about it was superlative. Midland should be very proud!
We had a great time! There is something for everyone to enjoy. This is a perfect day trip for people of all ages who enjoy getting outdoors!

The tree canopy walk was lovely! And there were many activities to keep children on task.
