A long overdue review - sorry, I think I said I'd do it tomorrow 4.5 years ago! My husband and I had Jen as our doula, both during the birth and the lead up/post. It was great to have support and individualised birth education. And when the big day (or 4 days it turns out) came, was great to have Jen on call for advice, and then for the actual day of birth to have her right there in our corner. With my baby #2, Jen has been a huge help for the birth. Her experience, guidance and sharp instincts for birth put me at ease and made me feel confident to have the birth I want even when my husband couldn’t attend the birth. I highly recommend Jen if you are after any pregnancy, birth or postnatal support.
Contacted company who returned my enquiry asking for my availability. I provided this and have never heard back a thing. I feel like I have been doula ghosted. Not very professional.
Upon meeting Jen for the first time, she provided understanding, empathy and a genuine interest in helping parents navigate their way through their pregnancy journey in a holistic way. We learnt so much during our time with her, and she was a great sounding board for any concerns or questions we had. Meeting our little one for the first time, we nicknamed her 'the baby whisperer'- her passion for parents and babies is evident and we're so grateful to have had her part of our journey.
My wife had already had 2 c sections when we fell pregnant with her 4th child (twins first time around). The 2nd c section was a very traumatic experience for us both with the spinal wearing off half way through, no skin to skin contact and very minimal support on the ward culminating on her checking out less than 24 hours after birth.
