I visited Douglass Certified Prosthetics & Orthotics earlier this year to purchase custom orthotics to help with pain in a specific part of my foot. When trying on the orthotics during the fitting I told the specialist that they made the pain in my foot worse, but the specialist shrugged off my complaint and told me to use them anyway. It seems this office does not prefer to work with insurance and expect patients to pay upfront and then go reimburse it. Which is fine as long as they tell this upfront. They say that they'll send Pre-Authorization to the insurance but they never do. After a few weeks they'll inform that we could not send Pre-Authorization to your insurance and that if you wish to proceed, you should pay upfront and contact your insurance for reimbursement. The staff was courteous and efficient. I felt that Gabrielle went to extra lengths to make sure that fittings were going to be correct. Including a complete do over when she was not happy with the first attempt.
