My wife and I stayed here via Harvest Hosts on our way through Kansas. Tony gave a great tour including the communities history, the bank building, and farm equipment. Very unexpected but pleasant surprise. Worth stopping by for a tour!

Stopping at the Dorrance Bakery and Museum felt less like visiting a business and more like being welcomed into a community. The owner was so kind and took the time to share stories and history with us, and the people we met in town were just as warm and welcoming. There is something really special about Dorrance that is hard to describe — you can feel how much heart the people have for their town. We left feeling grateful, inspired, and already talking about when we can come back again.

I am so bummed our stay didn't let us have a tour. We had a quick overnight in our RV. The host was so kind, flexible and offered awesome amenities. I hope everyone will swing by and check them out. This is what small towns are made of. ♥️

This bakery is like stepping back in time to 1911. The detail work is amazing. The owner Tony was awesome. He told the history of bank as well as the town and the people. In the basement is a inn you can stay the night in. His tractor museum was very interesting and educational to see. He has not only the history on the wall he has QR codes for more in depth information. Everything is all donations to help maintain the bank and museum. Highly recommend going on a weekend to check out the bakery if you love history and antiqu... read more

The Dorrance Bankery is a wonderful visit. We stayed overnight in our RV. Tony gave a insightful tour of his historic farm machinery and former bank's history and colorful past. The little town of Dorrance has some really interesting history and past residents. Tony is quite the baker, creating for us delicious cream puffs. He has a very comfortable basement apartment under the bank if you want a nice place to stay. We really enjoyed our short visit and wish we had more time to explore the Kansas prairie. Tony does a prairie... read more
