Long-time patient , no kids, menapause, strong history of cancer in immediate family ( sis & both parents) Dr stopped ordering ultrasounds of your ovaries. 3 yrs ago I had bloating, abdominal and pelvic swelling & the exterior of my genitalia looked like it had a stroke. I couldn’t get an appt with her so I saw a colleague who did a sonogram in the office - huge ovarian cyst ! Saw Dr Denehy who confirmed Stage 4 ovarian cancer. You will have to pay $417 out of pocket for the doctor to take your health history as a new patient! This is not covered by Medicare. I was not told this when I called to make an appointment. I asked if the doctor takes Original Medicare and was told she did. This is unusual and unacceptable.
Made this appointment three months ago. I got lost and I was seven minutes late and when I walked in they told me they couldn’t see me and also that I was booked incorrectly… that was definitely not my fault. They said her next appointment was in four months. :-(
She has been my doctor since I am 17 years old. For almost 30 years, I have been blessed to have such an amazing, thorough, patient and knowledgeable doctor treating me. She is top-notch with an incredible bedside manner. I have referred many family members and friends to her and all have said the same thing. Dr. Degraaff is by far one of the best!!!
Outstanding doctor - the best of the best! I was fortunate to be her patient years ago. She taught me to trust myself and to advocate for myself with the medical community. I had been dismissed by many doctors - she listened to me and it turns out that there WAS something wrong. My only regret is that I moved across the county and am no longer in her care.
Dr. Doreen DeGraaf is one of our areas finest Gynecologist/Obstetricians. She has been treating myself and my family, and delivering our babies for two decades. She is a warm and caring physician and an intuitive and gifted obstetrician, and has always held one of our states lowest C-section rates, I believe.
I am a patient of Dr. DeGraaff's for the past three years. Prior to her I was traveling back and forth to NYC to the doctor I was seeing for 22 years. Needless to say making the switch to a doctor close to home was not easy. I could not be happier with my decision! She is kind, funny and truly takes time to listen to you! I saw her yesterday for my annual visit and she spent most of the time helping me come to grips with a non-gynecology health issue I am experiencing...I am truly thankful!
I have been a long time patient of Dr. DeGraaff. I have found it extremely difficult to get an appointment and when I do get to see the doctor I find her to be distracted and in a rush! I feel like if you are not there because you are having a baby she is not interested in you!!! Staff is very rude!
I have seen Dr. Degraaff for the last 22 years through pregnancies and now approaching the age of menopause. I was so disappointed with my last visit. The day of my yearly exam Dr. Degraaff seemed disinterested and condescending as well. The body goes through very unfamiliar changes at age 50. Dr. Degraaff should be more patient and understanding when a women is unfamiliar with certain symptoms. When a patient sees a doctor once a year for an exam, that doctor needs to be sensitive and attentive
