Dr Dondey is thorough, knowledgeable, highly experienced, professional and excellent to deal with. We saw Dr Dondey after a negative experience with a another well-regarded ophthalmologist. (He was not thorough, vague and had poor engagement with children). Dr Dondey did thorough testing and gave us an accurate diagnosis. Advised child that patching has worked well and patching no longer required. As a result the previously “perfect” eye sight worsened and 2 years later, the sight in that eye is no longer fixable despite patching again etc. After seeking a second opinion, the new Dr advised that patching should have never been stopped, rather tapered, and this contributed to further problems with the eye sight. In short, avoid and do not recommend at all. There are more up to date specialists out there.
