I saw Dr. Don Sherwood for EMDR after going through a very traumatic experience. He was great, attentive and really provided me with much needed insight. He performed EMDR on me and it really helped overcome some PTSD that I was going through at the time.
Dr. Sherwood was the best therapist that I ever had. He was insightful, compassionate and caring. If I still lived in the Waukegan area I would still want to be seeing him as my therapist.
I started seeing Dr. Sherwood alone before going to him for couples counseling with my, then, girlfriend. We were in a very bad spot and seeing Dr. Sherwood was the last effort before breaking up. Dr. Sherwood was quick to assign guilt and, I feel, never really understood the depth of the issues that needed to be resolved. After I stopped seeing him, he sent a letter to my house which was signed for by my, then, ex-girlfriend who used it against me later with threats of litigation.
