Boston Logan rental desk took forever to get through the line. And when we did, we were scammed with commission-led upsells and tactics which gave us a horrible first impression of America. On drop off, we found out we had been charged a whole load of fees which weren’t needed, clearly all giving the Boston desk clerk a nice little commission bonus. Company is losing life-long customers because front desk staff are wanting to make a quick buck.
Not too bad for a wait time. Got Southwest airline points for booking with Dollar Rent A Car. Didnt like the auto drive feature on the car. It wouldnt turn off no matter what I did. It kept pulling on my steering wheel while I was driving the country roads in New York. Not good!
HORRIBLE! DO NOT USE THEM! We had a reservation for a car during out trip to Buffalo and when are flight arrived there were NO workers at Dollar and NO cars. They just left us and several others stranded with no vehicles. WHY HAVE RESERVATIONS IF YOU HAVE NO CARS?!! And the workers just went home. Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!! We will NEVER rent a car from them again or any other company that is owned by them.
My pickup time was for 11pm and when we got to the Dollar counter, we were told they closed at 7 and there were no cars left because they overbooked. I made the reservation 4 months in advance, so there is no excuse for this to happen. I got confirmation emails and texts daily for the last week leading up to the pickup date. When I returned the next day to get a car, they told they had to give me whatever they had and it ended up being the absolute most disgusting smelly interior of a rental car that I ever had. Vehicle was in very rough condition. Specifically rented a mini van but was then told they have no mini vans. Visibility is very poor and unsafe out the windshield due to damage to the windshield. Took almost an hour to get checked and then they only had 1 or the 2 booster seats that we requested
