Great location, beautiful picnic area. Nice short hike in the area. Do have to reserve, and there is a daily fee.
This is a fun and easy place for a day picnic! It's super convenient, located right off Big Cottonwood Canyon Road, making it a quick trip from Salt Lake City. There are seven picnic areas of various sizes, so you can find one that fits your group, and there's plenty of parking. It's a little bit expensive for a day use area, and no dogs allowed, but the equipment is well-kept and the area is gorgeous. There's also a rock climbing wall a little bit beyond the sites.
