RecommendedWhile I can’t be sure I am convinced that Dodson’s is the last great boat yard on LI Sound with the devouring of the other independent facilities by Safe Harbor, you just can’t best Dodson’s. When they say they repaired something, they did and made improvements. Everyone that works here are extremely nice and helpful and responsive. Beautiful place, I enjoyed my stay here.
We spent a season at Dodson two years ago and had major work done on my boat, Veneeni. It was great! Then yesterday, I needed an answer to a question about the coolant they had used in my diesel. Although they were closed for the holidays, Alden, the service manager called me within 5 minutes, his baby crying in the background, and fully answered my questions. Pros: Easy pickup moorings, well-spaced field, rapid &courteous tender service, very clean dock and shore facilities Cons: Amtrak noise& views
Great people and well run. They'd run circles around larger yards.
