I am a looper traveling alone, and the Dockmate has proved to be invaluable. It is very important that all of your attached components i.e. , Batteries, thrusters and steering are all up to snuff. Installation time is short and my customer support has been great. It doesn’t get 5 stars only because it is limited by the boats components. Bottom line, after a short learning curve it is invaluable
I have a Dockmate Twist on my Meridian 391, and recently upgraded to the Dockmate DPS Ocean Mode system. Dockmate has been a total game changer for us. My wife had an incident a few years ago, she fell off the boat at our dock. The event traumatized her and left her with PTSD and a fairly negative feeling about boating and boat trips. I recently had a new Dockmate system installed by Captain Michael in Baltimore, and the entire experience was excellent. The installation was done professionally, cleanly, and with great attention to detail. My experience with the DockMate’s remote control products has been extremely satisfying. I recently bought my DockMate remote to aid in my docking process for my 2025 Tiara 38 LS. I store my boat in a rack storage marina where traffic and docking conditions can be fairly tight and tricky—particularly at low tide. My Tiara is equipped with 3 Merc 400hp outboard engines, joy stick, and a bow thruster. Dealing with Spencer has been a real pleasure. Have to admit it hasn’t been the easiest of installs but Spencer was quick to advise that they will make sure everything ends will end well. What more can you ask! They have two versions of remotes and the choice is hard. I went for the twist because it seemed more advanced and the capability to walk the boat ‘sideways’.
