Not going back – Needed a last-minute safety/emissions inspection, and my regular garage (Combs) couldn't fit me in. Dobbs failed it for emissions because of a check-engine light, pulled the computer codes and said I needed a $600 replacement of a part that they admitted very seldom failed. Knowing that the computer codes can be misleading, I asked if there could be any other explanation, and was told, no, that was what was needed. Rip Off Artist – I was buying a used car in South County. I called to see if they could over look the car... the performance of the engine, check body for repairs, and for leaks. I called for a price; the guy said $35 dollars. When I got there with the owner of the car, the price went to $45.
