Dr. Shuster is both our doctor. Would highly recommend. Very knowledgeable, wonderful staff, concerned for his patients and takes time with them.
Dr. Shuster has been my Gastroenterologist for several years and I have always found him to be extremely competent and knowledgeable. When I was once referred by him to Barnes, I learned that he is also highly respected there. Dr. Shuster is able to effectively explain medical conditions (love the drawings) and treatments, allowing plenty of time for questions and/or concerns. I’ve been seeing Dr. Shuster for 3 years for several issues. At first I was unhappy because he was quite blunt about my fatty liver disease and he insisted I quit smoking and drinking. Ultimately I can tell he really cares. After 20 years of smoking and drinking I am now done with both thanks to him. He’s helped me lose 45 pounds and my liver numbers are normal. Amazing doctor. I’ve had reflux for 18 years and had been on omeprazole forever. He figured out my stomach valve wasn’t working and he did a TIF surgery and fixed my reflux. I haven’t taken any meds and feel like I did when I was 25!
Doc is really good. He talks quickly but listens well. He likes to draw pictures which really helps understand stuff. He took care of me during my procedure and fixed my bil duct.
Dr. Shuster is the most well trained GI doc in springfield. he is difficult to get an appointment with because he is so busy but we were lucky to get in. other doctors told us about and highly recommended him and they were correct. you should send your family members to him. he removed my dad's esophageal cancer without needing surgery. he also did my mom's colonoscopy.
Excellent doctor who truly listens and cares. Always on time. Apparently he’s done special training for complex surgery but I didn’t need that—thankfully.
