DMF has to be the worst recessed lighting fixtures I’ve had the misfortune to install. The M series 4” round remodel can is an absolute nightmare to install. The clips that are supposedly hold the entire assembly to the ceiling are a joke! Cut, try, remove, trim and try again is the protocol when installing these cans.. And the can still sits off of the ceiling! The ground wires on both the can and the driver are way to short to easily make a splice… light output is not much more than a candle. I installed 12 DMF recessed LED fixtures 13 years ago. I’ve been happy with them until recently when 2 started to flicker. No problem I thought. I went to the DMF catalog on the DMF web site and found a replacement. The issue is that the trim I need to match the rest of the fixtures hasn’t been made “in years” (per customer service) even though it’s in their catalog and web site today.
