Sad that it has come to this. Been buying from Dixons Auction literally for DECADES. Never had any issues until recently....Ed...Billy...Jenny...Bruce great bunch of people. Purchased several items from 3/12/2025 Sale in Chester....upon arriving to pick up my items on 3/14 was informed of a break-in day(s) before several of my items were "taken". This place is just a rip off the shipping charge are not correct per term and conditions Dixon auction want to charge $30 to ship two small items it only cost $10 to ship in a flat rate box.
This was a great auction house until about 6-9 mos ago. Definitely went down hill. I used to enjoy buying stuff from here but staff has become very rude and the new platform is not user-freindly. Miranda seems to be the only one in the shop with any customer service skills...hence the 2 stars. Whatever changes in management that happened recently are not for the better. The pickup area has also become a huge mess and borderline hazardous. I can't imagine the landlord being happy with the clutter.
I’ve been doing business with Dixons over 15 years. Ed and Billy are 2 of the most down to earth men you will ever meet. Both would give the shirt off their back for anyone in need. In 15 years they have never cheated me, never lost an item, and always have worked with my schedule as far as picking up. Nick and Brittany are 2 of the most hard working people I’ve ever met. Today's auction, which was advertised as recently as last night and this morning on the company's Facebook page and was supposed to close at 7 PM tonight, suddenly disappeared from Proxibid, while all other auctions remain active on the platform. When I called to inquire about what happened, I was informed that the auction has been rescheduled for the 18th and that the items will be listed on HiBid instead of Proxibid.
