I am not sure that I would return. Though I loved the location and à atmosphere, I was disappointed with the food. I had a chicken club sandwich that was greesy and tasteless. My husband had tacos and Though they were flavorful, they came lukewarm. Our appetizer was mozzarella sticks but it was more like cheese with a pile of marinara. This came only warm but delicious. This restaurant is lakeside and very comfortable. It was also very comfortable. Again, I am just so disappointed in the food. It has so much potential.
Food was good, but our server (Sam) was just the best. We never needed refills, she checked in frequently, helped navigate changes to orders and lots of our one-off requests. We were a larger group and she was a total champ!!
I reviewed The District years ago and gave five stars then. My last visit on July 28, 2026 was a far cry from my first review. Two of our party of six had a steak. It was inedible. Fatty and chewy. The other four dishes were ok. However, the overall quality was not up to their normal standards. Maybe costs are up. Maybe good help is hard to find. If so, make adjustments instead of serving poor quality meals. There are now better options in the District.
This was my second time at District 36, and I continue to be so impressed by the staff! So welcoming, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I will continue to celebrate milestones here with family and friends.
