About this business

Distant Lands is a retail/wholesale importer of Chinese and Tibetan furniture and decorative objects. We search to find original antiques as well as faithful reproduction that have some quality that jumps out. We look for the unusual whether it is the outline of a delicate Ming chair or the vibrant painted flames of a Tibetan shrine cabinet.

Tony P I think that the Chinese furniture being offered for sale at the Distant Lands is really cool, in excellent taste, high quality and is being offered at very reasonable prices. I was particularly impressed by the oversized red armoire. The owner is quite helpful and knowledgeable about his inventory. , and I would urge people looking for Chinese furniture to get down to Distant Lands while the prices are low resulting from the current economic malaise. Favorite store in Pioneer Square. I like the store. The owner is very nice and offers tea. I dropped in on the store by accident, when I got off the bus from Pike Place Market at the Pioneer Square stop and stepped in to the first store I saw to get out of the rain. I go in on occasion and browse. I've bought a cabinet, stool, some jars and hat boxes and an incense holder that I put on the kitchen as an air freshener. Be sure to go upstairs, too.
