Ever since Discovery Living purchased their home next door I have felt like I have lived next to a apartment building with all the worker cars parked in front of my house, often they block my driveway. Too many trips to complain to move out my way or to get off my grass they love to park on. If a group home is proposed near you raise HELL to get them to stop.
I was at Discovery for a little while. As someone that has Borderline ID they helped me to gain skills and helped me to grow! I am now living independently and growing a lot! I recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to send your uniquely abled loved one! Like every place it wasn't perfect but I got the help I needed! Thank you Discovery, for meeting me where I was at and being part of my journey!
One of the residents gets locked out in all kinds of weather for extensive periods of time. He has a really hard time dealing with his emotions and when he gets locked out, he is crying and begging to be let back in, promising not to be bad any more for an extensive amount of time. He seems to need special attention and care, not being locked out of the house. You talk about dignity for your residents on your website but this does not fit your claims.
