Horrible experience. I waited for a scheduled call, and when I got on the call, I gave some information only for the representative to talk over me and tell me to do things I’ve already done. When I tried to let her know I’ve already done those things she, repeatedly tried to “aht aht” me. I was just trying to let her know what I had done, so we didn’t waste time. Not the greatest intake team I have ever encountered.
When my rights were absolutely trampled at a local hospital, I asked DRC for help because I need to know I can access care in the future. I was just told that DRC will not help me. Where am I supposed to get support when my ADA protected rights are being disregarded, if an organization like DRC is unwilling to so much as help me elevate my concern, once going through the hospital's system failed? Why does DRC exist if they will not help with a need like this??
It is absolutly impossible to get through. I have sat here for a half hour and jumped through all of the hoops that were asked, the telephone robot said it was puting me through to a live person. Transfered me to a servay, and hung up on me. I feel so helpless, and I just need to find out if this is who I need to talk to or call someone else. I can't get through after calling several times. This makes my situation so much worse.
I would like to point out that this organization exploits the people it is supposed to help. They do not do anything to help the rights of the disabled in California; this organization (along with DFEH) is one of many responsible for contributing to the homeless epidemic by committing legal malpractice against the people it should be protecting.
