Came for the vintage photo booth (real film!), stayed for the food, will return for the food
This is literally my favorite café in the world. It’s always buzzing. The coffee is good and the environment is great. Vietnamese iced coffee is amazing.
It’s shocking how mediocre this place has gotten over the last few years. The Joplin used to be one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches but even as the price increased, the quality drastically went down, especially the focaccia. Since renovating, the atmosphere is cold and uncomfortable. Staff are rude and standoffish.
I first ordered the cardamom latte, but when I got it, I could barely taste the cardamom. I asked the barista if she could add more flavor, and she was kind enough to do so, but unfortunately it still tasted very weak. I ended up ordering a caramel latte instead, but I had the same experience—I could only taste a slight hint of the caramel. Overall, I was disappointed with both drinks. The flavors seemed like they had potential, but they were far too subtle. A bolder flavor would have made the lattes much more enjoyable.
