Diana and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in the Amana colonies in Iowa. We only had a few days to get away, but we selected the perfect place. We have always had a wonderfully relaxing time in the Amanas. We were fortunate to celebrate with the greatest joy of our 50 years - our daughter, Kylee Smith. Thank you to the owners of Die Heimat Country Inn B&B for their warm hospitality and especially their wonderful breakfasts.
This was a gem of a discovery. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Delicious breakfast, with omelets, bacon, fresh fruit, homemade pastry bread, juice, coffee. Small gift shop and "recreation room" with books, puzzles, & games which can be used during your stay. We stayed only one night while traveling through. But we are considering coming back and making this our destination.
Beds were a bit softer than I like, but rooms were beautifully appointed. Breakfast in the morning was cooked fresh for us. The owner was a pleasure to talk with, and always helpful!

My friend and I decided on a little get-away. Die Heimat was the perfect location. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. I loved the early morning coffee in the beautiful, peaceful setting surrounded by beautiful flowers and birds, flying about the feeders. The breakfasts were an added plus and right out of the historical cookbooks. Penny for penny much nicer than a motel. Donna
