Established in 1941. In 1941, Travis Dickey opened the first Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Dallas, Texas. Funds were so tight, he couldn't afford his own sign-- he had to rent space on either side of the Dickey's sign to Dr. Pepper! A lot of hard work and long nights sweating over a hot hickory wood pit paid off, and when Travis' 2 sons Roland and T.D. took over, the business was up and running at full capacity. luv this place! Dickies is a real treat with such great bbq and sides...I am compelled to visit them at least once a month!
Good lunch I have been to Dickey's for a few lunches. Meets the typical work lunch needs, quick and tasty! Pulled pork is excellent and really impressed with the turkey lunch. Sides are good as well, although i wish they had coleslaw with a kick. The owner serves the food to the tables and is very friendly. They have an ice cream machine and you can help your self.
