Real southern bbq! I was so excited to find out that there is a good old fashioned BBQ place in Durham when I moved here. The food is really authentic like its been cooking all day, but comes out fast. I got my food in under 3 minutes, no joke. And everything was delicious, there wasn't a thing that I would have changed about it. When you go, you have to get the hush puppies, they are cooked to order from real dough, not little preformed frozen things. I will definitely be back again and again!
Love it! I hardly ever write reviews but I was so impressed with Dickey's I just had to. The food is great of course, and they have 4 different sauces that you can put on your food so it's just how you want it. The service is excellent, the staff is friendly and accommodating, they make sure you have everything you could ever need. It's a great place for families, really laid back, you certainly can feel good about bringing kids here.
Dicky's Bbq Pit is recommended! Good food served hot and fast. Will eat here again. I tried the loaded baked potato. It was good but it didn't compare to the ribs -- they fall off the bone and the sauce is to die for.

Besides the fact that you have to add your own sauce, this wasn't bad. I got the 3 meat platter (hot links, brisket, and pork). The links and brisket were the best, imho. Overall it was a pleasant experience. The cashier was really nice and made us laugh, and I love the western motif. If you like good barbecue but aren't a barbecue snob, this is a good choice.
Kids eat free Sunday!! We love to go to Dickey's. The food is really good, portions size is good. Prices are very reasonable, under $10. I love the Brisket. Kids eat free on Sundays, what a deal!
Great addition to the strip mall The barbecue is great. Excellent variety. The scene is calm and it is a very kid friendly environment. The serving staff is very accommodating, and quickly corrected my order when it was brought out wrong. They need more chicken varieties on the menu, but if you enjoy pork, this is the place to get some good ole BBQ.
Family owned barbecue This location is Ross Perot's favorite because he used to work across the street. He's talked about it on national TV. All of the Dickey's stores are comfortable and the food is great but there's something special about the Forest Lane store and the original store on Henderson at Central Expressway. the BEST BBQ, really nice employees I had the great fortune of growing up with Dickey's and have recently gone to this location on a frequent basis. They are always friendly, serve a wonderful sliced beef sandwich and offer good specials on a daily basis. My dad loves their ribs, husband loves the okra (WOW, what a serving!!), best mom loves the mashed potatoes!
