The Dickerson Harbor boatyard/marina is located at the end of a quiet waterway on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay. I needed a place to store my boat for the winter where I could come and work on it from time to time prior to putting it back in the water in the spring. Dickerson Harbor marina was reasonably priced, conveniently located and well set up to meet my needs. This is a nice, quiet boatyard that is diy friendly as well as offering any services needed. I spent a week repainting the bottom of my Dickerson 36 . The marina owner knows all about these classic boats and is a wealth of information. All Dickerson owners get vip treatment and all are welcome. I’ll be back!
John Shanahan will try to steal your boat. He convinces older owners that they need a small repair. Soon it'll cost you double... then triple. 4 years later you hire a lawyer to get half your boat back missing an engine and it's windows. This man takes advantage of the elderly and tries to wait them out until they pass away so he can claim ownership. I look forward to the day this place goes out of business. I’ve been storing my Meridian 408 here over winter for several years. I live overseas and it’s important to me to know that my boat is being looked after while I’m away. The owner, John, is the most knowledgeable guy I’ve met around boats, and I consider myself lucky to have found this place and John. I’ve found John to be a straight shooter and he does what he says he will. Very happy to recommend John to anyone looking for winter storage and boat maintenance.
