My information was sent by my cancer Dr to her office In October. I had to in November to actually get an appointment. I went to my appointment and was prescribed a drug.Later, I still don't have the cancer stopping drug my cancer surgeon said I need.
Dr. Shipley herself is wonderful herself. However, her nursing staff is not open to hearing one's. They rebuff many requests for things like second opinions to be made and answers to questions. They can be pretty non-responsive on the phone and fail to give understandable and direct answers to inquiries. In total, they are stand-offish and lack empathy on the phone. In person, they do much better. I, for one, will be asking my primary care physician for a different oncologist.
She was my wife’s oncologist and we would rate the staff 4 stars but Dr. Shipley 2 stars. She was very late diagnosing my wife’s multiple myeloma even after several office visits to her complaining of pain. Once diagnosed, she did a good job with the treatment of the cancer but seemingly ignored the affects the cancer was having on my wife’s bones. Ultimately, my wife had multiple compression fractures in her spine and could have utilized kypoplasty to repair the damage but nothing was done and now it’s too late to do the pr... read more
Dr. Shipley treated me for breast cancer during my initial diagnosis and treatment in 2014-2015. She was always cheerful, a pleasure to have as a physician. She answered my questions to the best of her ability and was always positive and reassuring. She and her office staff were always patient and worked with me on making payments on my deductible and copay bills, which seemed reasonable at the time. I would recommend her to anyone needing treatment in this area.
Never would I recommend her. Out of 16 appointments I only saw her once. It lasted 15 min. , never explained anything or answered any questions. I was assigned to a nurse practioner who was impressed with her own importance but didn't know anything. Lucky for me I found a doctor who cared and knew what he was doing. Since I left my quality of life has improved tremendously.
She is wonderful. The best friend/doctor a woman could have. I have been a patient for more years than I could remember. She will probably retire before I stop seeing her. When you find the best, there is no need to look further.
Dr.Shipley is a wonderful and caring Doctor! And her staff is excellent!
My husband had non-Hodgkin?s Lymphoma for 27 yrs & with Dr Shipley for many of them. We adored her.The time and attention she gives could make you think you're her only patient. If one can look forward to seeing an oncologist, I think he did. It was like visiting with a friend. She's what kept him going. Her staff is just as caring. Making an appointment is flawless and the wait time MAX 15 minutes. She is absolutely awesome! She even took time from her family to attend his Celebration of Life.
