One word - disrespectful. Whoever answers the phone on behalf of the business and booking appointments needs a class on how to communicate if they can't do the job and a handbook on how not to be racist.
Diane's Barber Shop was highly recommended to me by a fellow veteran. I sometimes pass by this shop when I'm driving through town and had long been planning to give her a try, mainly because of her two business billboards with the colorful balloon displays. After entering the shop and taking a seat, she acknowledged my presence after about three minutes at which time she said, across an occupied waiting area, "Sorry, I don't do "ethnic hair".
