The person who replaced my wire was very annoyed when I asked him to cut my wire ends shorter because they were scratching my cheeks. I didn't want to ask him twice due to his annoyance, so I thought that I would give it a day or so for the sensitivity to go away. Upon the next day, the right side was cutting up my cheek despite him cutting the wire shorter once.
