I really like Dr. Basu. But the office staff is inept at their jobs. A prescription was supposed to have been sent in for me, but still hasn’t been sent in after I’ve left numerous messages that I would be running out of the medication in a few days. I did have one person call me back saying that the prescription would be called in this morning. But as of 330 this afternoon, the pharmacy had not received it. Dr. Basu is a very smart and personable doctor who I have seen for several years now. However, enough is enough! His office rules and procedures are the worst! When he cancels appointments yet does not want to fill prescriptions because one has not been seen is not fair to the patient. Also his office opens at 0800and when you show up at 7:50 for your appointment and get told you are over 15 minutes late and your appointment is canceled is unfair. Enough!!! Dr. Basu and his staff are the most compassionate people I’ve ever met. He is so helpful and kind. No one wants to have RA or fibromyalgia, but he’s made the diagnoses bearable. He always listens to what I have to say and comes up with a plan, then makes sure I understand it. I would keep coming to see him even if I moved to another state. Highly recommend.
I went to Dr. Basu for a 2nd opinion. I have pain in all of my joints, and have a burning sensation throughout my body. The first rheumatologist said I had a false positive ANA, and only looked at my blood work. Dr. Basu went through my medical records since May, did more blood work, had x rays done of my joint and gave me a diagnosis, with more probably to come. I have been seeing him for over 15 years. All of his staff are absolutely wonderful, they are caring and very patient when it comes to getting me checked in and taking vitals. With doctor Basu he spends the time needed with me and does not rush me out the door like some other doctors do. If you are looking for a good rematologist then he is the one to go to
