I live in Hampton and was riding through Windsor (Speed Trap) when I got a speeding ticket. In discussion with the State Trooper, I was informed that Dewitts Auto down the road does speed calibration tests if I didn’t think we were speeding. I was a little upset at the time so we went home. With my daughter being a new driver my husband said to get the calibration test done in hopes it was off. I go where people remember me and treat me like family. We are coming to the age of appointments. You need an appointment for everything. The days of walking in and getting something done right then is becoming impossible. Even though DeWitt’s stays pretty busy and making an appointment would make it easier on everyone. They still take walk ins and try to fit me in there already busy schedule. The office staff is very courteous and professional. I have been coming here since I moved here in 2005. They have always addressed my needs and provided me with an estimate before any work is done. And if they see something else that needs to be done they always call me first even if an increase of $10.00 or a light bulb needed for state inspection. DeWitt’s is also one of the few mom and pop garages that try to evolve with the changing times. They keep their equipment updated and there staff educated.

I would highly recommend doing business here! I just moved into the area and needed a State Inspection. My neighbors suggested DeWitt’s Automotive Center. So I walked in today without an appointment. They seemed busy I was afraid I would have to come back. I was greeted very warmly by Bonnie and between her and another lady sitting behind her they said it might be about a 20 minute weight and then the state inspection would take another 30 minutes. If you are a single parent this is the friendliest place to come to get your car worked on. I am a single mother and to have to go somewhere with him to wait and get my car worked on is for the birds. Most places offer to give you a ride home but as soon as you arrive with a child that needs a car seat in order to get a ride home the offer becomes too difficult to for fill. Took in my car for my yearly inspection. They failed it, which was perfectly fine, its an old car. They listed these reasons for the failed inspection: front tires, rear brake shoes, rear brake lights, brake line in the front. Later upon personal inspection, its obvious the front tires needed replaced, so I replaced them. The rear brake shoes didn't REALLY need replaced, but I replaced them anyway. I get my Car Worked on and Serviced At Dewitts regularly and the Service is always Precise and they Are good to their customers...Ive never been Misled whatsoever..and the Work Always Stands up...Of Course things go wrong with any Car Along & Along..But I dont believe Anything is Backdrafting to Dewitts....I will Always Take my Car there...They Do An Excellent Job And Their Personalities are Wonderful...A Family Oriented Atmosphere is Just how I feel When I walk In the Door...Tammy Hawks Cole :)

I am a widow and have never had to take car of a car in my life. I went straight from high school in to marraige. After 46 years of marraige my husband has passed. He always taken car of our vehicles. He had always taken his vehicle to DeWitt even prior to DeWitt' Automotive Center opening. The first time I went with my car I told them I am counting on you to take care of my vehicle. I now just come in and give them the keys and say take care of me. We recently took our car here to have the air conditioner fixed. Their techs found and fixed (what they assumed) was the problem, and 1 day after we picked up our vehicle the AC was still not working. We took it back to them a second time and they told us it was a different part that needed to be replaced, and so we replaced it. To make a long story short, our AC is still not working and they have had our vehicle 5 times. DO NOT take your car here, they will charge you for whatever they want, whether it needs to be replaced ... read more
